While walking around Capitol Hill in Seattle I came across a “drive-in” that had a huge line.  With my cousin, who is a Seattle resident, and my friend Pat we decided to stop.  I have passed this place in the past but never thought anything of it.  This time was different.  Known for its fresh cut fries and never frozen burger patties I had to give it a go.

Dick’s Drive-In has been serving burgers and fries to Seattle for 59 years.  We waited until the line died down a little then got up and looked at the menu.  After a minute I decided to order a double cheeseburger, fries and a strawberry shake.  Our food was ready in minutes and we were on our way home to destroy this meal.  My mouth was watering as I could smell the fries and burger while driving.

I was drinking the shake on the way home and it was wonderful.  The fresh strawberries were thrown in which made the small chunks of them a great addition to their vanilla ice cream.

When I opened the bag and got out my burger and fries I could tell this was going to be a great meal.  The cheese was melted to the wrapper but was easy to break it away.  The burger was a little greasy but had such a good flavor that I didn’t mind much at all.  The fries were hand-cut and so good I forgot to even use ketchup.

So if you are near Seattle be sure to hurry in and check out Dick’s Drive-In for a great burger and fries.  They have 6 different locations, some even with places to sit inside.  Even if you aren’t that hungry their shakes are killer and you can’t go wrong.
