Seattle is home to one of the largest markets in the world with so many different cultures and people coming together in one packed but beautiful city.  Eating seafood here is a must as it is so fresh and The Crab Pot is the place to go for a seafood feast.

Right on the water is Pier 57.  Home of The Crab Pot which has been praised by numerous food sites and even featured on Man V Food.  I was visiting some family out here so and we had just been burrowed in the many levels of Pikes Place Market and needed to enjoy the beautiful day so we got a table outside right on the water and ordered our beers.

Since three of us were eating we decided to go with one of their Seafeasts.  We got the Westport which came with Dungeness crab, snow crab, shrimp in the shell, steamed clams & Pacific mussels, andouille sausage, corn on the cob & red potatoes in their jackets.  They set us up with bibs, mallets, bread and plenty of butter and placed a giant piece of paper down on the table.

The food came out in a large bowl and they flipped it right onto the table.  Steam poured out and the smells of their spice mix filled the air and my nostrils.  Confession time.  Growing up I was deprived seafood so this was the first time I had ever had crab-legs in my life.  Who doesn’t love being able to beat on a shell and get the meat out from under.

The crab was so light and delicious.  The mussels and shrimp offered such a great taste.  The andouille sausage had a little heat to it which worked in getting me sweating.  The potatoes were also cooked perfect which means they know what they are doing.  Potatoes and seafood need to be placed in a certain order to ensure they are not overcooking or undercooking anything.

So if you are really hungry and wanting to split a feast with someone stop into The Crab Pot and order one of their Seafeasts.  If you cannot make it up to Seattle they do have two locations in California also.  Normally I would tell you what I am going to order next time I stop in but with this I will probably get the same thing.
