After driving for 13 hours some friends in I arrived to a wet and stormy Issaquah, Washington to meet up with some of my family.  The only thing that stood out on this dreary night was XXX Root Beer.

When walking inside you are overwhelmed with posters and flair of the good ol diner days.  With so much to see you better sit down or you may get light headed and dizzy.  We took a seat and looked over the menu.  With various awesome diner classics I decided to order the 56 Cameo which was essentially a philly cheese-steak with some awesome twists.  I ordered that with fries and a mug of their homemade root beer and sat back waiting.  After driving all day this place was heaven sent and made me very ready for my weekend in the Pacific Northwest at one of my favorite cities, Seattle.

When my food came I was speechless.  The cheese-steak was so big it couldn’t even fit in the basket.  I didn’t even see fries at first and knew this was going to be enough for 2 meals which rocked because I didn’t have breakfast plans yet.

The steak and vegetables were grilled perfectly and with the cheese melted and their homemade XXX sauce this made it into my top 5 cheese-steaks ever.  What set it off more then your average cheese-steak was the mushrooms.  They were whole button mushrooms sauteed to perfection and placed all over the sandwich.

So in conclusion be sure if you are anywhere near Seattle or Issaquah you check out XXX Root Beer.  Its the gucchiest place in town and you can get more root beer and food then anywhere else.   The root beer is served in a giant frosty stein and tasted so good also.
